Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), of the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), has released a memorandum outlining the process by which deportation/removal cases before the Executive Office of Immigration Review (EOIR) will be reviewed in order to conform with ICE Director John Morton’s memorandum of this summer calling for the same.  The purpose of this review is to prioritize the deportation/removal of potentially dangerous aliens while allowing for the exercise of prosecutorial discretion in cases of non-violent and non-criminal aliens.
